Space GO! is a newcomer‑led community initiative that creates affordable, accessible spaces for families to stay active, connected, and supported. We understand the real barriers newcomer families face — from cost and waitlists to language, transportation, weather, and unfamiliar systems — so we design simple, welcoming activities shaped directly by what families tell us they need.
Our story
Space GO! began with a group of newcomer parents who saw how much their children wanted to be active — but how many barriers made it difficult. Weather, cost, waitlists, limited spaces, unfamiliar systems, language, and transportation challenges all made participation hard for newcomer families.
Instead of accepting these barriers, we asked parents what they truly needed. Their answers became the foundation of Space GO:
